Sense = some biological reaction to external environmental stimulation, noise, light burst, touch, smell, taste and the rest.

How about the minds ability to sense patterns?

And by this I mean patterns other than the usual (easily identifiable) objects we are accustomed to seeing. Tuning in recognizable patterns found in Magic Eye pictures is a good example of what I mean.
