The idea may sound like BS to many people that understand something about gravitational lensing but this video explains how this idea might actually really work!
However, the idea, although possible, I think it would be SO problematic and SO expensive to do in practice that I think it wouldn't ever be worth trying to do in practice.
Despite that, I found the discussion of this idea in this video interesting.
