Big Al's theory of relativity has gotten a lot of press it seems and he didn't even win his Nobel on that, but on photoelectric effect. They didn't want to give him the N for relativity because it was too controversial but they knew he deserved the N prize so they picked over his work and found a lesser known work to give it to him. A bit of politics in the N game.

Could you please state a theory that won a Nobel, and then give an informed account why it shouldn't have?

EINSTEIN. for the the theory of relativity, after all the nobel prize was to be given for invention to benefit humanity, not only that but it's not entirely correct.

Einstein didn't get the Nobel for the theory of relativity.

You can easiyl look that up.

Try new.

What ? of course he did, you better do the research!

You didn't read my post? I said Big Al, meaning Einstein and he did NOT get his Nobel for relativity because it was too controversial, instead they fished out other work of his and latched on to the photoelectric effect, light hitting some materials kicking off electrons which was unknown before Einstein.

No offence but no more communications.

Why is that? it is well known Albert did not get his Nobel for relativity, I learned that in HS physics.

"Albert Einstein
The Nobel Prize in Physics 1921

Born: 14 March 1879, Ulm, Germany

Died: 18 April 1955, Princeton, NJ, USA

Affiliation at the time of the award: Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institut (now Max-Planck-Institut) für Physik, Berlin, Germany

Prize motivation: “for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect”

Albert Einstein received his Nobel Prize one year later, in 1922.

Prize share: 1/1"

From this site:

https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/physics/1921/einstein/facts/

Notice it does not use the word 'theory'. it uses the word "law''.
