A quick look today shows 42 siege games unstarted, while those in the queues have to sit and wait. And example: Red board 7 day timeout 14 day timebank. Both players are no longer active on-site, bt what can those in the queue do? They have probabky forgotten they are even waiting given how long the queues take to move...
As an idea, auto-start any siege game a given period after the end of the previous one. To give some allowance for holidays and the like, set this period to the longer of 7 days or the move timout duration.
