I think clan members should not be able to rec their own clan members posts in the public forums. There are way too many stupid posts that get rec'd by people rec'ing their clan members posts for no good reason other than they are clan members.

A true rec would be from someone outside the clan with no vested interest in that person's post.

If there is no vested interest then why would I even bother to read it let alone rec it. Most rec's come from people you know anyway. you really think thses people that have over 1000 rec's are really that brilliant? Don't worry so much about how many recs people have and where they are getting them from

I don't care about where and how many they have. Just pointed out that since we have the "Recs of the week" link back, It would be helpful not to have to scan through scads of posts that just say "bone head" or "ya, i agree"

All my rec's have gone to a user posting... not a clan mate. Some of them are my clan mates, many are not.

RN likes to make it seem like my clan rec's each other, but that isn't the case at all. Many of the users in my clan don't even give out many recs.

I do. I give them to anyone at any time. Could be you, could be SJ, bub, RN, BiggDogg, cashtrasher, sjeg, ATY, rwinkle, 14U, Bowmann, Ark, rmack, Suxie, hinestain, huck, EOB, or anyone... I read something good and I rec it. I'd say 80% of the time when I do rec something someone else will rec it shortly after. I rec good reading, or a point well delievered.

I will rec anyone in my clan, if they make a good point. Some of them I just doan't agree with. I give recs where I feel they are due, and I'm happy to say I've gotten my recs for insightful posts like this and for the most part not harsh attacks.

Actually, when I'm mean in a post I expect I might get a rec... but I feel users here at RHP feel these posts don't fit who I am, or I go too far and don't get a rec for being a 'tough guy'.

Anyway, I really think a solution lies in the list of recs more than the removal of recs or who gives who a rec.
