I also back up this idea. Started playing Fischer chess recently, and it's a very fun exercise, gets you thinking from the very start. I reviewed the castling rules for Chess960, and was unable to perform them in any of my games.
It's still fun to play, but it would be optimal to be able to do so with game dynamics fully implemented.
