Would it be possible to create a 'Clan honour' statistic. Whenever a Clan accepts a challenge, they recieve honour, declining a challenge reduces their honour. If a Clan bounces a challenge, then the honour is awarded to the Clan that ultimately accepts the challenge. This way we can see which Clans have balls and which clans simply pick easy fights. Perhaps there could be different levels, starting at Pussy Cat working up to Godzilla or something like that....

Clan A challenges Clan B. If Clan B accepts then Clan B gains respect. If Clan B bounces the challenge and Clan A accepts then Clan A gets respect. But neither clan would ever turn down a challenge if they could instead bounce it as that doesn't cost them any respect. So you could bounce the challenge and make it so no one in their right mind would accept it (your top player against their bottom player). They will obviously bounce this (as turning it down loses respect and accepting it loses net points) and the cycle continues.

    Horribly flawed idea.

Yes of course, you are right. Remove the bit about bouncing and it works though.

How? Clan A challenges Clan B with a stupid challenge. If Clan B does anything other than accept it then they lose karma. If they do accept it then they lose net points.

May be the challenging clan loses honour by setting up a challenge greater than 50 points (average) in their favour?

Or how about good old fashioned Samurai Bushido Honour, whereby if any clan challenges another, with all games against higher rated players, regardless of the result they get that "so, desu ne?" feeling...
