I think it'd be cool if the screen where clan leaders issued challenges included space to write to the receiving clan leader...it would be used for everything from taunts to explanations, especially when bouncing occurs.

Yes, that's keenly observed. It would be kind of like PM's and the Clan Forum, but obviously quite different as well. I speak of an opportunity to send a messages along with challenges from the same screen.
