I saw an interesting thread back from 08 with the suggestion of per-game email notification options. That reminded me of two additions to the email notification that I think could be very useful.
0/ Give notification in different notation. I don't remember most of my games enough when away from the board to recall what a8d8 "means", but if it read Rxd8 I'd have a much bigger hint.
1/ Delay notification until after conditional move processing is done. If a conditional move fires and it's not my turn, don't send me an email telling me it's my turn.
2/ If my opponent resigns, send an email notification to let me know.
