Copied from "Transpancy" thread in the general forum:

I'm actually happy with the forums myself as i like banter

idea number 1: Get rid of the forums, hardly anyone use them anyway (task to demostrate this - pick 10 random players from Find Players and see how many have never posted in the forums).

Idea Number 2: Have a clear list of rules of how a forum ban can be imposed - this could possibly be continuedly updated. Also have examples of forum bans (without using user names - even if its an open secret)

Idea Number 3: An auto system that shifts threads from 1 forum to another.

Idea Number 4: Setting a set amount of posts a user can make in a day

Idea Number 5: Also i think it would be interesting if a user could have number of posts they've written down next to their number of moves (some forums have this feature).

I think this is useful in this thread but will copy into site ideas forum

there should be a limit on the amount of threads Grampy Bobby can create in a week, the amount of times he can post in a thread and he should be forced to pay $10 for everyday that he makes more posts in the forums than he does chess moves.

Personally I believe everyone should be able to post as much or as little as they want with the only restraint being offensive posts. The transparency should be as to the punishments handed out for those offences.
eg offensive word - 1st offence - warning
    2nd offence 1 day ban
    3rd offence 3 day ban
4th offence 1 week ban etc

What is the difference between a warning and a 1-day ban?
    What about:
    1st offence - 1 day ban
    2nd offence - 7 day ban
    3rd offence - 30 day ban
    4th offence - 90 day ban

And once a year it's set to 0 offences

The length of ban isn't the question as much as a formula that is fair and not down to a mod's personal feelings

That's easy. When mod sees an offending post, he reports it and he and the other mods decide if the user will be banned or not
