I don't want the original back, it didn't do anything except say 10 minutes or less. I love the new one, with its extra size and information, I'd just like it a bit greener. Neither version told you if the player is online now, only if the player moved recently.
If it is, I hadn't noticed.
A bit greener/a bit brighter - same thing to me.
As I said before, when I come online to play I like to play games where the opponent is currently playing.
A brighter/greener dot would help me determine this without straining my eyesight!!
The "fade" is ok provided it doesn't become too faint.
What value does the green dot really have? Do you see it next to someone's name?
If you see it, that person might be currently online, or might not.
If you do not see it, that person might be currently online, or might not.
If you see that green dot, you know that a move was made in one of their games within the past 10 minutes.
It doesn't even mean they were here to make the move, if it was a conditional move.
At one point I thought it would be useful if it indicated instead that a person was logged in, but it was pointed out to me that many members do not ever log out, so even that idea would be of little value.
A brighter non-fading useless green dot would be easier to see.
I will now get off of this dead horse and let someone else ride it for a while 🙂
