Hourglass Time

Russ can we get hourglass time up in here? Say only a one day option. I think that would be a great addition.

Start a game with 1 day timeout no timebank. Your one day option, or do you mean play a game in one day - which is why blitz is available.

Each player gets 1 day. As time goes down on one clock it increases on the other.

I would go along with this as long as all games with timeout under 3 days were made unrated.

We have enough people inflating their ratings with the current 1-day games.

Wanting faster games is one thing. Over half your rating depending on people timing out is another.

For every game these people time others out in the probably have a game where they also timed out.

Do you think in the line of timebank only. This is hourglass, but not available from the new game menue.

May I alter your original suggestion into: Offer a 0 day timeout option?

Why not just play Blitz instead?

There are the famous timbank only tournaments like the site championship.

Hourglas doesn't necessarily mean Blitz, but non-renewable time.
