In-game messaging

I noticed one feature seemed to disappear with the site update, the ability to move the message window around when posting a reply. This was useful because by default it hovers in the middle, blocking some of what the other player said.

A couple other options for messaging that I'd like to suggest:

A character limit counter, so that longer messages don't become truncated.
Line breaks in the message preview.
Support for other languages.

On this topic, I wonder if there could be a way to hide or collapse in-game messages so they aren't a distraction from the board.

The suggestion would be either:

*option to not receive ingame messages
*option to get ingame messages as "normal" messages

is that correct?

To clarify: I meant to leave them where they are now, appearing above the board, but then to be able to dismiss them from that location after you have read them (they would still be accessible in the Messages tab in the lower right).
