Hey Folks, I've repeatedly tried to play live chess. I chose a game and join, or offer a game; the other player may or not may move, and then aborts the game. The other players often instantly start another open game!

Does this happen to others?

Are you doing this, and if so, can you explain why?

I find it quite frustrating that people either post an open game, or join one, only to instantly quit, but continue

I've had similar problems, there's not a lot of people using it so when they do and they game gets accepted they're often not around, the game times out and they come back and start another one. I've been on both sides. Just not enough people using it.

Maybe those who are interested in playing live chess need to put up a thread in the 'chess only' forum with the purpose of creating a list of members who want to play live chess.

That list of member names should also include what particular hours they would be available to play a live game, keeping in mind that there are numerous different time zones to deal with.

Once that list is created, members could send personal messages to anyone that is in a nearby time zone and arrange a game in that way, instead of just going to the live chess site and wait for someone to randomly show up and play.

You may want to also include in that list what particular type of live games you want to play, since there are a variety of options.

This also assumes that the live chess site is up and working, since it appears to be in beta mode.

Something to think about, anyway. 🙂
