Russ, there are thousands of freeloaders on this site who have been here for years, complaining about the same things, giving nothing in return. Since they don't contribute to the development of this site, there is absolutely no reason why they should be able to make suggestions and continue to rant about the same things.
Originally posted by clandarkfireAgreed. Non-sub low-lifes should be confined to the 'help' and 'chess only' fora and a max of 2 posts in any 24 hour period. Pay up or piss off, I say.

see you in a month.
Agree. Rec'd.
A lot of non-subs do contribute but a lot more seem just to moan
about here or tell us how good another site is.
Restricting their posts would inflict on the supportive non-subs.
So the cure is not so obvious.
Do think you should not be allowed to post for first 56 days to stop these
fly by night guys advertising a piece of junk or banned for forum content guys
from rejoining a few days later and continuing where they left off.
A members only forum may be a good idea.
The rules for this would be it has no Mod so anything goes.
(a trial period of 6 months to see if it works).
Non-subs would then have to join RHP to see what was being said about them 🙂
Originally posted by clandarkfireThat's right, subs are much more qualified to come up with s(h)ite ideas that will never be implemented by the site admins.

Originally posted by SwissGambitIndeed, it is the non-subs that are more likely to come up with ideas that would get new people to subscribe. There is a reason they haven't so far, and the reasons why are a fertile field for site improvements.

I Support
* a members only forum. (Really it doesn't matter if there is another forum around or not, given all the club and clan fora.
* posting restrictions for non-subs. I suggest a number of 5 posts per day after a waiting time of one week, with the exception of help forum. - I think that one week would discourage all people who would just register to load off their junk. I think further that 5 posts per day would be enough to contribute well thought comments, and have still the opportunity to reply to replies in time.
* identifying members to newbies to act as guide. This has been suggested previously in a different thread, but it would minimize the necessity for people to post the same questions on and on...
