    Maybe "Checkers" is the American name for "Draughts".

    "Checkers" as I know it maybe known as "Chinese Checkers" in the US. It's played on a hexagonal board, the object being to get all your pieces into the opposite section of the board. Maximum 6 players.

    "Draughts" is played on the same board as chess, only 2 players, and the last player with (a) piece(s) remaining on the board wins.
