Move reminders

Site Ideas

I think it's a poor practice for the site to expect an opponent to send move reminders. I feel it is not my job to babysit my opponent.
Can't the RHP robot send them instead?

I agree, and some are very nasty about getting a reminder.

I don't even bother anymore now, even with someone I have been playing for years, I will send them an e-mail or PM instead.

If you don't like receiveing reminders, turn it off.

I don't send anyone a reminder either.

RHP doesn't expect you to send them, though some users here have said they SHOULD be mandatory and had crazy site ideas where they must be sent before being able to use the skull feature.

That, my friend... is BULL!~ Flag drops, take the skull if you like.

Others have also said skulls should be forced automatic. That's also bull, since an apponant and you might agree to a bit of extra time in a good game and busy life getting in the way. That's Bull too.

Don't even get me on the subject of vacation, or whether or not chess is a sport.

Chess is not a sport; it is a game.

Chess is too abstract to be a science, too unforgiving to be a game,
too violent to be an art, and too inactive to be a sport.

Thanks for the input Phlabby.

I guess I just wonder now if it would be possible to have the bot send them to players that would like to receive them.

Damn, and there is me thinking I am doing my 30 minutes of sporting activity a day.

Suppose I will have to go back to the drawing board again.:'(

For an accountant I reckon chess is a sport 😉

What do you mean "expect"? The option is voluntary. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Not being one to take skulls, I personally like being able to send a reminder.

And you call yourself a chess player. 😠

Chess, especially at top levels, can be highly strenuous. In fact, chess players have been known to lose weight during their games. (eg - Karpov, after his match with Kasparov in 1984)
