Just a little idea :
why not delete the names off players who didn't play for more
then a year. Some have interesting names but didn't play more
then a few games and didn't even suscribe.
I, for exemple would have taken the name "blackbear" but couldn't.
It had been jused a long time ago. Too bad !

Why not change the name BlackBear to BlackBearObsolete, or @BlackBear or something, with a prefix or an affix of some kind, in order to keep his games intact?
Further - Make it possible to change ones name into another name, perhaps with an approval from Russ, and the change info in the profile, so nice names can be reused without starting another account?
I, for one, would like to call me Fabian, and Fabian only, removing the fnas part.
Originally posted by KewpieA very good idea. Actually better than my prefix/affix change.
Even easier - change the names of inactive players > 3 years to their UserIDs. That would free up a lot of good names which were used in the early years, but never since.
One thing though - People changeng names again and again may be a problem. The name change have to be restricted in one way or another.
But freeing up old names - super!

So what happens when someone who has been inactive enough for their name to be changed becomes active again?
if they can prove they hve been in a coma the whole time, they can get their old user name back, and the usurper gets their random user name for usurping.
