Paging control alternative to infinite scroller?

Is there a strong desire to have this available as an optional alternative to the infinite scrolling we have on the new version?

Is it possible to add the button system found at the bottom of the pgn game board or also found on the 'member rating trend chart/graph' found on each members profile page, which allow you to skip forward or back by a large number of posts or threads, or to the beginning or end? You could even make it a user selected number to skip forward or back.

You could add this feature to every list that is now a single long list.

Another feature that might be good would be to allow selecting how to present lists or message log views. We could select oldest at the top and most recent at the bottom, or the other way around.

Something like the Blog page navigation might also be good, at least with the forum thread page, since some of them have threads going back to 2001. That would sure make it faster to do research on some of the older threads. You could zero in on the year and month you want to browse.

Anyway, I hope this all makes sense and is understandable! 🙂

The archive navigation system you have for the blogs index page might be nice too, for the forum thread pages, especially the ones that go all the way back to 2001. Anyway, I'm sure you will come up with something that will be a help!
