    I copy an paste from a pgn file that half the software om my computer can read, yet half the time I get an "invalid pgn" notice instead of the game.

    Make sure no line ends in "." Put a space after any that do.

    Show us the PGN and we'll tell you where to find its error.

    Some chess program are very picky about the PGNs, everything must be exactly as the standard says, others are very forgiving, correcting the errors themselves.
