Now that the Profile page has been redesigned, how about increasing the size of the Profile Pic to 150 x 150 from the current 100 x 150?

Looking through random profiles, it seems that most people are using square pics that are being squeezed out of shape by the weird 100 x 150 dimensions. A square size for the pic seems a lot more useful, and with the pic in a new space, it seems more than adequate for 150 x 150 size.

    Rec to that.

But also - Some has a rectangular picture in portrait format, some others in landscape format, still others in quadratic format.
I would like to have a 100x150, an 150x100 or 150x150 pixel format option somewhere in the profile so the picture would not be distorted (like mine).

Or perhaps Russ could implement a system whereby image proportions will be retained after scaling.

    So a 200x200 image would become a 100x100 image and a 1000x100 image would become a 150x15 image.

Even better would RHP implementing a system that stored avatars, forum images etc. on the RHP servers. That way we wouldn't have people linking to 800kb images that scale to 50x50 (horribly) and we wouldn't see nearly so many questions about how to use an image.
Size limitations could be put in place (say 30kb for profile images and 15kb for avatars) and there could be a setting to turn avatar display on or off (for those who can't handle 15x15 kb per page of the forums or are reading at work).

In tandem with this it would be great to see avatars increase in size a little. 50x50 is truely pitiful. I don't want to have to view images at full size to see what they are and I would like to able to have more than the most basic design as an avatar. 100x100 has become standard most places.

This is the first post from you that I've ever recommended.

    I agree 100%

Edit: I just mentioned 150 x 150 size because that seems to be the size of the area on the Profile Page where the pic is located.

Edit2: 100 x 100 for the avatars would help the eyestrain from trying to decipher the 50 x 50 avatar image too. Good point.
