tournament rounds

I notice in one of the tournaments I actually got through my group, that we're still in round 1 because a number of games have been completed.

however, the winner of each of the groups has been decided. Is there not a way of updating the software that when the group winner has been decided, the 2nd round could be kicked off. This would speed up tournaments dramatically.
