Tournaments

I think it would be neat if they had a tournament with each class 25 points apart.

like 1000-1024, 1025-1049,1050-1074,1075-1099

I'm sure though that this has come up in the past, just curious what everyone thinks...

That would only work with octets because lots of people don't enter tournaments, so there would only be about 16 people who would want to enter tournaments like that.

Between 1150 and 1450 this would work well as most players are squeezed into this area and therefore take up of these banded tournies is quickest.

Not sure that would a good idea for me... I like to play against players that are rated 100-125 points over my rating. It's a good way to improve my playing, and it's well rewarded when I win.

But I guess many players would be interested, specially those who are rated below 900. Not because they are not good players, I was myself in that range few weeks ago, but because they are not the majority. When you are rated 725 and you enter a tournament 0-1100, there is not many players under you...
