Is there any chance we could get an underline tag?

I know I can just use bold to emphasis a particular word or sentence, but visually an underline looks better (i.e. less messy), doesn't risk being mistaken for quoting and is more approriate in many cases.

Personally, I don't like underlines on web pages as they get confused with hyperlinks. Just my opinion....

Can you post hyperlinks in these forums?

If you cant I dont see the problem, why would anyone coming to these forums expect an underline word/sentence to be a hyperlink? Especially if it isn't blue and doesn't start with http:...

Sorry, I too think underscored text on a web site is a faux pas.

The web is confusing enough as it is for most, even without inconsitencies like this.

underscore = link. That is the way of the web.
