And also there is Thread 162690 from the help forum.

I see an easy way to incorporate a solution without violating confidentiality.

    1. Only future bookings would be affected. The current vacation bookings would remain exactly as they are and the date information would remain private, by default.

    2. Incorporate a new step into the vacation booking process that would only apply to new and future bookings with the procedure as follows:

    A. The first thing a member sees when they go to the vacation booking page will be a pop-up window asking if the vacation dates can be made available to other members or if the dates should be kept private. The member would be required to select one choice before proceeding.

    B. Create a mouse-over pop-up window that opens when the mouse pointer is placed over the vacation icon for a member. Information shown would conform with the member's choice in part A above. Either the dates would be displayed, or "PRIVATE".

Perhaps there are problems with this solution that I am unaware of, but it looks to me like it would work and still protect confidentiality.

If this solution isn't used, another option would be to show a large attention getting pop-up to remind them to provide information as a courtesy to other members about vacation dates in their profile or in the vacation message, which are both already available.
