Any hope that the vacation system will be improved in 2017?
For example as at gameknot.com or another site?
It means more days per year, let's say 30-35, and real vacation, that is, your days (chess days, only ha ha) don't count down with the first day of vacation.
You realize that in this way a player "on a vacation" is left with zero days after they is "back from vacation", don't you?

Don't understand what improvements you are suggesting
Currently you are allowed 36 days (30/35 you say??).
The term on vacation is not really accurate anyway
All it is ,is timeout protection.
I think it's all right as it is.

I don't know what you're talking about here.
How come it is good when after end of vacation a player is left with zero days and zero timebank and can be sculled-off in next move?
Ans no, it is not all about timeout protection, vacation is about stopping the clock, capisce?

There was some concern that poor sports would use vacation to drag out lost games if vacation stopped the clock. Letting the clock run limits that somewhat.

Don't know about other sites, but on here clocks have never been stopped since I joined.
You can use your vacation flag more efficiently by calculating when your games will timeout and only activating it from that date.
For example if you're away from January the first until the 14th, but your timeout doesn't run out until January the 10th just book the 10th to the 15th(1 day's insurance) thus saving 9 "vacation days" to use at another time.

Gameknot and chesscom offers triple as many vacation days.
And the clock should be stopped when vacation starts.
I don't agree,but you already know that.
There doesn't seem to be much support for your suggestion so I can't see it happening.
