Perhaps it is just a case of the guy needing glasses? 😉

I for one appreciate the grandfatherly kindness of your post, and perhaps we might agree that patience and observation are both good skills to cultivate (in general, not just for chess).

Kevin,
I am not your Uncle, at least that I am aware of my chess friend.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, my very slightly senior friend. 😉

I have been watching some TV and movies from East Asia, in which it seems common to refer to some older (and presumably respectable) males as "Uncle" even if they are not related by blood and/or DNA.

@Arkturos,

I am not from East Asia, and not aware of their customs to be honest. I just don't want people thinking I am your Uncle. You are misrepresenting what you are saying in your posting calling me that. IF I were your Uncle you and I would have had a serious talk years ago!!!!

My dear Senior, I regret that I might have (in your view) come off as a pesky and bothersome nephew, and that my fond and respectful appellations have caused you such agitation.

Out of respect for your seniority I will of course defer to you and allow you to have the last word -- which, as history has shown us, is the most likely outcome anyway. 😉

Kevin,
Do you always spew such a crock of B.S.??

Only if I really like and respect someone
(even if they are sometimes a potty-mouth).
