I choose Robert Fisher. Bobby may have been a wack job of a chess player, but I'm pretty sure he never took the "rump rider on ramp" with an alter boy.

    Nope.

Father Robert Fisher plead guilty to fondling a 14-year-old girl.

    Sickening.

Erm, the only one i couldnt find linked to any abuse was Father Louis Garcia.
I didn't realize just how widespread it was either, until researching in preparation for this thread. There is a pool of about 3,000 known names from which to draw for playing this game, and that pool is estimated to represent about a fourth of the total names.

In 1985, Father Louis Garcia was convicted of sexual abuse in Fresno, CA.

I can't reveal my source for this one without spoiling the game. I'll reveal it when we're done playing.

According to my source, there is at least one decent man on the list. Recall the definition. A person who has been accused or has settled out of court remains a decent man.

And who knows how many more there are that have managed to slip through the cracks? (no pun intended)

It seems like I've started with too difficult a problem. I'll give you all a hint. It's not one of the Roberts, Jameses or Johns.

Its not the answer to the question ... but nevertheless astounding as well ...

Kansas City Star Says an Alarming Number of Roman Catholic Priests Are
Dying of AIDS, but Cause Is Being Concealed on Death Certificates

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - "Roman Catholic priests in the United States are dying from AIDS-related illnesses at a rate four times higher than the general population and the cause is often concealed on their death certificates, The Kansas City Star reported Sunday. In the first of a three-part series, the newspaper said death certificates and interviews with experts indicated several hundred priests have died of AIDS-related illnesses since the mid-1980s and hundreds more are living with HIV, the virus that causes the disease.

Eugene Emo is the answer, since he was convicted for abusing a "man" and not a child. Therefore, he is a decent man as per your definition. 😉

Hmmm. It's possible that Father Emo had an additional conviction for abusing a child. If this is not the case, then royalchicken wins Round 1. However, I'm not convinced either way, so I will let this round continue until the real decent man is found, taking your point into considertation while I attempt to verify Father Emo's decency, even though his victim was probably mentally a child.

Even if I'm right, it would be dishonest to accept any accolades, since I was just having a laugh at the fact that there's a mong molester named 'Emo'.
