I saw this taped to a bus shelter today:

"Innovations are misguidances and misguidances are the way to hell."

Couldn't religion be considered innovation?

Or is it closer to the opposite ?

Innovation implies a desire to progress; religion tends to inhibit progress.

Very true - it is hardly innovative to accept everything written in some ancient document despite all the evidence to the contrary.

"Antiquity without truth is but ancient error" - Cyprian.

And yes, howardgee, that's a quote from a Christian. And he agrees with you. That should just about make your brain implode.

Just stating the bleeding obvious.

Now if you agreed that the book of lies is an example of such ancient error, then that may make my brain expolode!

Religion "will inevitably appear, in the eyes of science, to be distinguished as no more than a sphere of confused ideas. If religous ideas are accorded the same value as any other conceptual system, as giving access to the mechanism of thought" (Levi-Strauss, Totemism 1962:104)

Innovations are tools of the DEVIL, and make baby Jesus cry.

Innovations take time away from hard work and prayer. If you aren’t working you should be trying to know god better by contemplation, reading the bible and praying for salvation not watching Futurama, Family Guy or trying to get a leg up on the inebriated girl at the local pub.

Make wise use of your time because time runs short, although…..you could wait till the eleventh hour…..same as cash! BAM yer in!

Well, looks like your brain is intact for now.
