There was a time when everyone was Catholic (at least in Europe) and
the Church ruled all. That Golden Age was called The Dark Ages. 😛

I'm honored to be in the dangerous category.

So you figure there is nothing wrong with religion as it stands today.

Not with religion per se. All of the ills attributed by ignorant people to religion are promoted and caused by evil men, period. A method of control? Check. A way to become rich off the poor? Check. A way to get away with murder? Check. All conceived and carried out by evil men, not by religion. Granted, some of these evil men were ensconced within religion, but religion is not the source of their evil. Religion is merely a tool for them, just like all the people they use and abuse are tools for them. If anything, religion is just another *victim* of these evil men.

Well said. With a little wordsmithing, we could replace "religion" with "guns" or "capitalism" or "socialism" or just about anything that evil men get their hands on. Although "puppies" would be a hard fit.

It scares the crap out of me that people thought this guy was a good musician. That song sucks.

1. Yes

2. Middle Ages

Mainly to differentiate it from other 'Dark Ages' (eg The Greek Dark Ages when Mediterranean Bronze Age societies collapsed). But it was called the "Dark Ages"

btw
I hope you don't mind me numbering your original post for clarity.
I retained the poor grammar for authenticity.

The whole thing just plods along. It sounds like the work of some stoner sitting at a piano repetitively mashing chords while singing at a barely audible volume. It's uncreative and monotonous.

Monotonous maybe but certainly not uncreative. You have to consider the lyrics as well as the music and it touched a lot of people.

Plus he made wire-rim NHS glasses cool.
(Thanks John!)

National Health Service - UK's health provider

John Lennon style glasses were amongst a

I did. I don't consider them realistic.

Have you heard 'Cold Turkey'?

Lennon was a genius.
