As Christmas approaches...

People (generally) seem happier/kinder at Christmas, and I like that.

Happiness/kindness is rather contagious, so I am not immune to its effects. (Though as you know, my sleep pattern goes haywire this time of year).

for me it means dealing with a lot of folks who demand that their 'traditions', that are not my traditions, be observed

this is not a problem, just a thing that must be done

a side note unrelated but tangential
since mom passed, dad's day to day doings,
and seasonal doings,
have changed dramatically
he said he wasn't going to bother with a xmas tree this year
not "didn't want to" it was "wasn't going to"
lol, he cusses a LOT more
he watches a slew of different programming on the telly (compared to the stuff he and mom used to watch)
