That's my question. It's not about what makes more sense to you, the question I asked you is about what you are open to, like your question to me, which I answered.[/b]
If the universe has always existed it would negate the need for God to cause it, yet it need not rule out the existence of God since God and the universe could hypothetically both be eternal. Obviously to me it is more plausible that God existed before the universe did since there is a lot of evidence to indicate that the universe does indeed have a beginning.

Stop contradicting yourself.
Stop desperately trying to read something into my posts that simply isn't there.

I am still waiting for that admission that you didn't read my post correctly several times over.

Is that a 'yes, I am open to the idea' or 'no, I am not open to the idea'? I am not asking you what is "more plausible" to you, just as that wasn't what you asked me. I am asking if you are open to what I put to you.

OK, I've answered your hypothetical. Here's one in return: What if leading scientists had the opinion that the universe did not have a beginning and that it wasn't created? Would that in any way affect your religious beliefs?
Their opinion would obviously not make sense to me since I have already indicated to you what does make sense to me.

Maybe you should stop desperately trying to deny something you clearly said.

You clearly said to Joseph: "You don't have justification." You may try to blank it out but it is there for everyone to see.

An eternal being that has no cause for its own existence but is the cause of the universe's existence.
I am open to this idea, I suppose, but I don't find it particularly plausible. It seems to be a speculation filling up a space caused by a lack of information.

So you would reject the new scientific knowledge and it would not affect your previous beliefs, is that the long and short of it?

No I am not open to an idea that does not sound plausible to me. Why should I be? 🙄

The order in the universe points to some form of architect or designer.

So do you think you are less open minded about this topic than me?

Do you ~ like josephw does ~ believe that people who do not share this belief of yours are mentally disturbed, deluded, and dishonest?

What new knowledge are you referring to? I am aware that many scientist currently believe there is ample evidence pointing towards the universe having a beginning. The theories that are invented to explain this away just seem like a desperate attempt by atheists to justify their atheism.

The new knowledge I mentioned in the hypothetical I posed.

I think you just don't want to make up your mind, if you want to call it being 'open minded' so be it.

There is not enough information to "make up [my] mind". So I remain open minded.
