Week 20 Discipline

There are times when God corrects us. Because of His love for us, He will sometimes bring a measure of discipline into our lives.

1.Circle key words and phrases in the following Scriptures.

Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
JOB 5:17

Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law.
PSALM 94:12

My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
PROVERBS 3:11–12

And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”
HEBREWS 12:5–6

* But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
1 CORINTHIANS 11:31–32

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. . . .
I know, O LORD, that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
PSALM 119:67, 75

Obeying the Lord. Not such a popular issue, not even among Christians.

Ivanhoe, you're not making light of the Lord’s discipline are you? Your father would be disappointed.

I suggest some further study of HEBREWS 12:5–6 for you.

You have spoken a truth that many a believer will have to stand. before GOD, and explain why they took the WORD OF GOD,so lightly. They will have to explain why they feel that GOD did not mean, what HE said in HIS WORD, all of HIS WORD.
