What's the longest contiguous portion of the Bible that you have memorized?

Has anybody memorized the whole thing?

Does anybody know all the lineages by heart?

During my brief stint as a Southern Baptist in Texas I had to memorize a verse (Isaiah 40:31). I moved or stopped going (I forget which) before I had to memorize others.

I can hit it with most of the book of Job. I performed the Book of Job as part of a grade 10 aolo act drama project. I receive a C for my effort and took this as yet another screw over by God.

If you don't know chapter and verse it doesn't count. πŸ™‚

On the other hand I know "John 3:16" but have no idea what the content of the verse is. πŸ™‚

I had to learn a few psalms in school but cant remember more than a few lines. Something about laying down by still waters and "I shall not want" - notice the future tense πŸ™‚

Most people know most of the lords prayer, though I think you would find that a surprising number have bits wrong or don't understand parts of it. I know thats the case with national anthems and Christmas carols.

I did actually memorize a psalm as a boy, and still remember it all except its number, but its the one that starts "Praise ye the Lord, praise God in His sanctuary, praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts, praise Him according to His excellent greatness.... etc. etc.
Can't imagine why I committed it to memory, except perhaps I wanted to get all the musical instruments in the right order.

to be fair its only one short chapter, not hard really. There was an usher in our church who memorized the book of Titus (he had a lot of time on his hands).

All I know is the Ezekiel 25:17 misquote from "Pulp Fiction" and the "pi = 3" bit from Kings 7:23, which means that FabianFnas's nerdy classmates were wasting their time.
