The praise he received went to his head a bit and I recall him (in the following days) making some pretty bold claims about what he was capable of. Some of these claims alas have deserted my memory, but from what I do recall he was apparently related to Batman and had a magical tunnel in his bedroom that enabled him to travel through time. He also claimed that his bones were unbreakable and was able to read minds. (The following year he was only really known as the boy who wet himself in the art room).

Wasteful yes. Punished for it no. It is like the JWs around here. I have told at least 8 pairs of door to door JWs that they are wasting their time with me. Each time I have a new arsenal of faults of the JW doctrine to tell them about. They keep coming back. I think they secretly hoping for a reverse conversion. They may be closet JW haters who do not have the strength to oppose their elders.
