Your own post reported:

" Their’s was cut after the state determined that the Jehovas Witnesses don’t comply with rules that members must freely be allowed to join them or leave."

Any organization that doesn't allow members to freely join or leave is a cult.

JWs warn members to "avoid independent thinking", claiming such thinking "was introduced by Satan the Devil" and would "cause division". Those who openly disagree with official teachings are condemned as "apostates" who are "mentally diseased."

Which part of the above do you not consider cultish behaviour?

"Exposing the Devil's Subtle Designs". The Watchtow ...[text shortened]... 5, "apostates are 'mentally diseased', and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings.

No, cults can range in size from small to large:

Small: Most cults are small and try to stay under the radar.
Large: Some cults can be international organizations with millions of members.

It is you who have presented an inadequate and restricted definition of what constitutes a cult. - A group that brainwashes its membership and punishes free thinking doesn't cease to be a cult when it's membership reaches an arbitrary number.

I haven't changed the definition. I have said your definition is inadequate.

A cult can be small or large. What really defines a cult is what its practices are. (Not how many people have signed up).

Despite the hole you have dug yourself, I think you see that.

The Catholic church and JW's are not cults because they excommunicate people. No different from having a job you failed in and got sacked.
JWs are a cult because of the coercion and brainwashing they deploy, coupled by the elevation of their own versions/interpretation of Christian scripture and aversion to free thinking.

I might have this quote a little mixed up. Didn't Jesus say: Do unto the other fellow before he does unto you? 🙂

Oh my, my. If you could even slightly understand the Bible's explanation of what Jehovah expects of ones who try to live and follow his expectations of how to follow his rules should live individually or within a group such as JW's, you just might get some level of a clear understanding. Because my friend you are way off.
If you would actually read the Bible's explanations of his commands of such things as how to deal with ones who refuse to follow his laws and could cause harm to those who do follow them either morally or physically are written in the Bible for every human to see for themselves.
Most civilizations today that follow the bible to some extent follow most of those laws to help keep their society somewhat inline morally and even physically to survive.
We, JW's follow those laws that God himself gave us. If someone like yourself that does not get that, that is your problem. We don't answer to you are anyone on this planet. Jehovah clearly says that if anyone that associates with the members of the congregation but who "practices" one of many dangerous things either morally or physically that Jehovah condemns, he would eventually be removed as a member of the congregation....just as one who is a member of the general society of most countries would also be removed in some manor to not case harm or to be a bad influence to society. You do understand that don't you? I would hope you do on some level.
So just as one who is one who cases harm to society might at sometime later on hopefully gain maturity in their life and learn to not be a danger and to be once again be a part of society and not cause harm, is a great thing.
When one is disfellowshiped in our congregation, which could be someone who has no other family members in the congregation or maybe they have many family members, it is a requirement by Jehovah to not fellowship with them. Your bible clearly says that. Get it out and learn what Jehovah says.......

I'm hoping we get to spend eternity on Laguna Beach (California).

I know it's a long shot.

@Very-Rusty
You obviously have never looked into what we believe according to the Bible. Have you ever directly asked a JW what the bible says?
