Jesus NEVER lost a debate. Mary and Joseph were just as dumbfounded about the abilities of their Son as was the rest of the world. Jesus chose his disciples/mentors on their ability to advance God's message rather than to keep Him in line.
I think you missed my point.

Absolutely! I'm sure there must have been lively discussion and debate and I'm pretty sure the company he kept probably kept him from getting a major ass whoopin from Mary and Joseph.
From Luke chapter 2

46And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

47And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

And that's all we have to go on.

There's no indication that Jesus was the recipiant of the knowledge and wisdom of those with Him in the Temple, but rather it was they that were "astonished" by Jesus'.

I can't believe you would entertain the idea that Jesus ever received a punishment for wrong doing!

He had a Jewish mother didn't he? Do you believe that at any time in those three days before he was found that he (Jesus) took time out to eat or pee or even sleep? That is never mentioned either.

So? I had an Italian mother. She quit hitting me by the time I was 12 because she would bruise her hands. I think that's why she went to using a broom stick. 😉

No one speculates concerning the obvious.

Jesus had no intellectual peers by the age of 12 is what I get out of it.

In all seriousness I pray your mother had a peaceful death before she graduated to knives and guns.

77 and still kickin'.

My mother let me bring home ALL my friends. My dad, who IS dead, was of another sort. I did not follow in his footsteps.

Ok, I'll bite this once. Jesus did lose a debate, and for that I refer you to Mark 7: 24-30 NRSV

Uh...you're welcome. Well, let's try something if you're open to it. Do you believe that when John says "In the beginning was the word" it was referring to the Bible as you know it?
No, the word was God.

If you could write an 11th commandment, what would it be?

That mankind put down all weapons of destruction, bend them into plows, and begin to rebuild this world not with greed but with compassion and the greater good of all humans.

So, "Thou shalt use your compassion to make the world a better place."

Thou shalt not argue with Whodey.

Its like I tell people, just because you may not agree with me theologically does not mean I don't like ya, rather, it just means your not perfect. 😛
