The only danger is to the creationist cause. A worthless cause at that.

I think we would be in much greater danger had we 'not' evolved.

Actually we have devolved or degenerated. This is indicated in the Holy Bible by man living to nearly 1000 years of age in the beginnin of history and declining after the worldwide flood. And in modern science it is proved by DNA errors during replication known as point mutations which are degenerative.

The big danger with evolution is becoming extinct.

Yeah, but don't they say that is going to be a long time from now?

Assuming that you are talking about humans, there's no way of knowing. We don't know of any threat on its way, but we might self-destruct in a series of wars and ecological calamities or get a super-volcano eruption and find ourselves struggling, or some new disease we can't cope with may emerge in which case extinction could be just around the corner.

Why couldn't all that happen without evolution?

When it comes to God he's a junkie,
His beliefs strange and quite clunky,
    his earth is brand new
    as from Adam he grew
...and definitely not from a monkey.

One can use ignorant poetry to have fun,
But it is better than having none.

No reason at all, but your question was "What are the dangers of evolution?". Extinction is part of evolution. However, if there were no such thing as evolution and your creationist view were right then extinctions would still be possible.

Yes, but if the creationist's view is right there is also a way out of extinction through the Son of God.
