So, what do you think? Was this just another "allegorical" part of the Bible?
It reads like an actual encounter, why not assume it was?
Oh yeah, that whole "no evidence" thing you guys use to validate a closed mind.

Originally posted by SuzianneCan I take it that you believe the Minotaur was an actual creature? It's not like you would ever let the whole "no evidence" thing get in your way.

Do any Christians here believe in witches (like the Witch at Endor in the bible) that can conjure up spirits and the like?

Eric: There were male witches dancing naked around the fire.
Ernie: Warlocks!
Eric: No it's true I tell you!

As far as spells, etc., all they are able to do is summon a devil spirit who fools the witch, spiritualist, etc. into thinking it is magic.
Also, in the bible, a switch summoned Samuel, a prophet of God. So summoning demons, according to Christian theology, isn't all witches can do.
Originally posted by SuzianneSo yes or no: do you believe that witches exist today? You said you believe that one specific encounter in the bible was real, but that's too vague of an answer.

No, there is no such thing as magic. They are not aware that they are summoning a demon.

I believe a demon was speaking through this witch ( a familiar spirit) that can impersonate loved ones. Some times they even speak the truth or at least some truth, to become more formidable or believable in the minds of people,
