Ok, whatever, sonhouse.

The Holy Bible does mean more than just what it appears to say to a natural man like you. But that must be spiritually discerned.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

(1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV)

We are specifically debating the scientific insight in
the bible of "the earth being suspended in space".
I've no problem with anyone trying to squeeze spiritual wisdom
from the bible but don't claim there is anything else there!

No, you are the one debating the so called "scientific insight", as though this thread might somehow belong under the domain of the Science forum.

Perhaps someone should complain to a moderator, and insist this thread be moved over there. It's been done before, when a thread was snatched out of the Science forum and brought here.

I might expect that one could expect more, and especially so if one believed so much in his own importance that one would expect God to pander exclusively to one... such as yourself.

Say what? The earth is simply suspended in space? Not resting on anything and hanging from nothing... how is that possible?

a lucky guess?

😉
This opening post alludes to great scientific wisdom in the bible.

And this is what the thread is about.

How would a god be pandering exclusively to me if he revealed more in the bible?

And Paul prevailed. Don't bother trying to test spiritual beliefs against the results of natural sciences. This spiritual belief disqualifies that approach.

You might want to pay a little more attention to whom you are responding, that was Wolfgang59 not sonhouse.

Perhaps you had better explain the purpose of your opening post.

I see you alluding to it. Where do you see 'science' in the opening post?
Do you see 'science' in every post?

what would Freud say?

Why? What will happen if I don't explain the purpose of my opening post? But more to the point, why does it matter to you? Threads often go off in directions that have nothing to do with the opening post, so what does an imagined purpose have to do with anything? Either you get it, or you don't.

You're one of the smart science guys here, you know, the ones who are more intelligent because they are the science guys. So why are you asking me? You should be asking your highly intelligent selves using the scientific method. That's how you should be going about this, not by asking the intellectually-inferior-by-virtue-of-what-they-believe delusionalists who want to discuss matters pertaining to spirituality in a forum entitled Spirituality Forum.

And sooner or later, you will be smart enough to understand what is happening here... maybe. I don't know, maybe not. It's still too early to know.

This idiotic statement does not deserve a reply.
Mull it over in your head and digest how stupid you appear to others.

You start a thread but do not want to explain it? 🙄
