It's irritating (but not 'offensive' ) to craft a response that I think is on point, fair, polite, and challenging to your apparent position, only to have you ignore it. A small handful of frequent posters take this way out of a situation when intelligently challenged.

It's just a debating technique. When you realise you're going to lose a point, you drop it like a hot rock and start somewhere else. He's not here for the substance of the debate, for him, it's just winning points.
