05 Oct '08 22:42According to the book of Genesis (chapters 6 - 9), God saved Noah from the flood as he was "righteous in his generation."
A flood of that magnitude would kill all land based creatures and most of the bird population, but would have little effect on fish and other aquatic life. God, being omnipotent, would have been aware of this so he would have meant to save any aquatic life forms by flooding the Earth. Ergo, fish are also righteous in the eyes of God.
