After whining about rules of the Forum or whatever other excuses FMF offers maybe he'll get around to giving his better explanation for the apparent fine tuning of the universe for life.
Or is he just very adept at sitting back and shooting down what others believe about a fine tuning intelligent Creator.
Watch out for "I already explained it once upon a time long ago."
Watch out for him being in an elite group that doesn't need to know or ask.
@sonship saidI don't know what the origin of the universe or human consciousness is.

I think the best information we currently have about the nature of the universe ~ which is perhaps the closest we will ever get to a 'description' of a creator entity ~ comes from the science and the frontiers of scientific exploration.
One person's "fine tuning" is another's intricate scientific detail
I believe that theological "explanations" are a product of psychology and anthropology.
If that answer does not - for you - constitute a "better explanation" than the one you subscribe to, so be it.
@sonship saidThe universe is not fine tuned for life. Most of the universe is cold, dark, and inimical to life. All of it, in fact, except for one minuscule fleck, so far as we know at this time.

"Fine-tuning" > ah, yes, so there must be a tuner, there must be a being who tunes, like humans tune things.
"Laws of nature" > ah, yes, so there must be some legislator who passed the law, you can't have a law without a lawgiver, like humans pass laws.
"God the Father" > ah, yes, so the fact he is "the Father" means we are right to see him as an anthropomorphic [and male] being, you can't have a creator entity that isn't essentially a human, like us, albeit a super duper one.
@fmf saidA Ferrari can be fine tuned.

In the gnostic religion, the creator of the material universe was a minor demi-urge, and he made a hash of it. In the Greek pantheon, the creator of the material universe was Chaos; the immortals came later. In Buddhism, the origin of the universe is undefined (like division by zero). Take yer pick. I rather like the Ferrari.
@divegeester saidYeah, whatever -- how about you go wander out into the woods and come back to the village when you are ready to get along with other people who might otherwise roast you if the economy goes south?

An overwhelming desire to lash out at a forum detractor causes you to start a thread which you soon enough regret but the time for editing has past.
@moonbus saidYeah, that has been one big disappointment. I do still maintain a condo at Tharsis Ridge -- maybe that will pay off one day.

Another disappointment of my tour through your localized Earth aging is that humans are to some extent either sleepwalking or psychotic, and we really shouldn't go zipping around visiting other places until we get that sorted out.
@kevin-eleven saidCome back tomorrow Kevin, when you have prepared fresh non sequiturs and sprinkle fish-food.

@divegeester saidWho needs Novichok when a little Fentanyl on a doorknob is enough to do another knob in?

@kevin-eleven saidThere's always some git waiting with that dose of Narcan, though.

@kevin-eleven saidMan, that is ALL kinds of awesome.

@divegeester saidI know this is your home away from home, and I wouldn't want to disparage it for you, but if I didn't spend more time here I wouldn't miss it for a moment.
As I said, you should read and observe more and stomp less.
You’ll miss less and feel better informed on forum dynamics.
Forum dynamics? Like where you're in charge of the definition of terms and worthiness of posters?
