I went to this yesterday in Fresno and they gave a salvation message of Jesus at it.
A business seminar with a Jesus name drop? Isn't there a story of Jesus where he flipped all the tables and chased the merchants away from the temple? I know he didn't advocate being a bum, though, he did say "Do not feed the man who does not work in the fields" and also the reference about taxes- giving the coin to the one who's face is on it. But I know his emphasis wasn't on living to be extravagant

It has not been foggy for about 2 weeks?
It rained yesterday.
I know and the US government feeds the people who do not work. They just have to know where to go and not beg on the street.
krish dhanam gave the message about Jesus.

I see people out on the streets holding cardboard signs, but have fancier shoes and phones than me. I did see a sign in the city that was pretty good though "Need money for alcohol research." You can always tell the genuine homeless people- noticeable drug abuse problems, not the most socially "normal" in conversation and generally don't ask. It's a damn shame to see fellow brothers lacking the motivation. Unfortunately, that's not the only issue in hand in a lot of urban/suburban areas. "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime." We don't have the most accommodating system to teach a man how to fish, though, let alone to be able to get back on his feet and get a fishing pole.
Edit: maybe take that link out of your post? It makes the entire page streeeeeeetchhhhh.

Also, sometimes these homes aren't even that "broken".
Buy that I mean, alot of street folk have mental illnesses like schizophrenia, and even some mild violence or emotional tension can make these sensitive individuals feel more comfortable on the streets than back at home.
I know this happens a lot .
I have learned about this stuff from direct experience with homeless people, living with them from time to time.
