If Derren Brown had read the Bible he would know that the original gifts have ceased
and were only ever intended to be of a temporary nature.

Given that he descibed himself (in his book: "Tricks Of The Mind) as a happy clappy Christian in his youth I assume he's more than familiar with the Bible.

It is pathetic how obsessed people are with debunking this or
that about faith. They would do good in going at their lives and
let us those who believe and have faith to go our way.

The so-called free thinkers are not free but imprisoned by some
weird rage and itchy need to chase faith. Their "religion" is more
intolerant than religious people.

Live and let live, I say.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, Happy Clappy Christians believe that these gifts are
still operative, infact, they are the worst for becoming filled with spirit and basing their
faith on pure emotionalism.

Religion, and superstition in general is a happy breeding ground for the viruses of society; those ar$eholes and charlatans who will exploit and fleece the gullible for every penny they have.

The world needs more Derren Brown's and James Randi's ;]

Faith healing can kill, though.

Maybe if they are only trying to debunk biblical stories. Trying to prove that there is not a higher power is impossible.

Why do fundamentalist Christians, such as you and RC, so often use expressions like the above when you do not adhere to them yourselves? Do you not recognize the hypocrisy?

You recently started a thread on Debates called "Gay couple 'kicked out of London pub for kissing'" where you give your approval for that action. Is "Live and let live" to apply only to fundamentalist Christians?

I am full of contradictions.

I am happy that you're perfect, though. Enjoy! 🙂

Why do fundamentalist Christians, such as you and RC, so often use expressions like the above? Why not just admit your hypocrisy and take the steps necessary to change it?

It's as if you believe that saying things such as "I am happy that you're perfect, though" somehow makes your hypocrisy right.

Have you ever considered that you are "full of contradictions" because your core beliefs are built upon a source (the Bible) that is also "full of contraditions"? That having such incoherency as the foundation of your belief system can only lead to having an incoherent belief system?

You have built your house on sand.

The Holy Bible is not full of contradictions. The reason some people,
like you, think it is full of contridictions is because they understand
very little of what it says and they don't believe in the Power of God.
