@rajk999 saidWell enlighten me. Do you believe God’s Holy Spirit indwells Christians? Let’s start from there.
You dont understand what the Holy Spirits is. period.
@pb1022 saidYou can say that all you like, just like the going heaven nonsense. Repeating false doctrines over and over does not make it true.
@Rajk999
As I said in another thread, I think you discount or don’t properly understand the role and power of God’s Holy Spirit in indwelling a believer.
It’s the Holy Spirit that enables a believer to break free from sinful habits, but every Christian will still commit sin after accepting Christ. However the number and frequency of sins committed ought to be greatly reduc ...[text shortened]... welt Holy Spirit by seeking first the Kingdom of God and walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
The Holy Spirit works in people. People do not have to understand anything. Some people do good through the power of God and some do evil through the power of Satan. Christians proclaiming to have the Holy Spirit and still doing sin and evil just shows that they are hypocritical mouth worshippers.
Clearly you profess to know and understand Paul but you are ignoring most of his preaching. Paul said that born again Christians, who are saved and redeemed etc etc, but who live sinfully will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Are you saying that those with the Holy Spirit will be damned? Then there is no point in boasting of having the Holy Spirit unless you listen to the Spirit of God and live according to the commandments. So the bottom line is the KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS,,, rather than boasting of the Holy Spirit.
@rajk999 saidFrom bibleref.com:
Just about nothing you say is biblical. It all sounds like church doctrine.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:13 KJV)
<Here, He is saying that no person has ever gone to heaven and returned. The only person present on earth who was once in heaven is Christ Himself. In verses 11 and 12, Jesus explains that a person who won't believe earthly claims won't believe heavenly ones, either. If Nicodemus, or anyone else, rejects what Jesus says about heaven, there isn't any other source to which they can go. This is one of the places in John chapter 3 where Jesus makes a claim to "exclusivity." This, in short, means that Jesus is the one and only way to God—there are no other options.>
You need to read that verse in context, amigo.
@pb1022 saidThe Spirit of God is with all who keep the commandments.

Some of these are Christians.
Not all Christians have the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit.
Ananias and Saphira did not have the Holy Spirit.
Even though they were baptised, professed Christians.
@pb1022 saidThere is nothing about going to heaven in the bible.

If there was such a reference you would have quoted it.
@rajk999 saidAs I said, amigo, one doesn’t “keep the commandments” through self-effort or willpower. Man tried it that way and failed for thousands of years.

It’s only through God’s indwelt Holy Spirit that one is able to break free from sin. And the indwelt Holy Spirit is strengthened by a believer communing with God through regular reading of the Holy Bible, prayer, memorizing Scripture, etc. That enables one to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
@rajk999 saidHow do you know they didn’t have the Holy Spirit? Believers retain their free will after God’s Holy Spirit indwells them and they can “grieve” the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit of God is with all who keep the commandments.
Some of these are Christians.

Ananias and Saphira did not have the Holy Spirit.

@rajk999 saidSure there is. Paul talked about his desire to go and be with the Lord but it was more needful for early Christians for him to stay on earth.
There is nothing about going to heaven in the bible.
If there was such a reference you would have quoted it.
You take a very aggressive, chest-puffing stance in this forum. You’re not demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit when you do that.
@rajk999 said“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.”
(Philippians 1:21-24)
@pb1022 saidCalling people amigo in a condescending manner and not reading and understanding is not really nice either. Your whole demeanor is arrogant and boastful. You are like the self righteous Pharisees boasting of your righteousness and Holy Spirit, which I doubt you have. I dont think Paul meant for Christians to do that., Im here to pull you back down to earth.

The Holy Spirit as Jesus said is to remind people of his teachings. You do not seem to have that in you.
@pb1022 saidClearly you are not a follower of Christ.

You said: <<The Spirit of God is with all who keep the commandments.

First off, I don’t think what you wrote is Biblical at all, but it also doesn’t make sense.
If the Holy Spirit indwells people who keep the commandments, at what point does that indwelling happen? After they’ve kept the commandments for a week, a month, a year, five years?
And what if they break a commandment after receiving the Holy Spirit? Does the Holy Spirit then leave?
What you wrote is man’s biggest problem - pride. No one earns their way into Heaven, amigo.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
There’s no boasting and chest-puffing in Heaven and no strutting around condemning people either.
@rajk999 saidI’m giving you the straight scoop, amigo. And I’m not saying that in a condescending way. I thought your nickname in this forum was amigo.

You have to realize that man tried to keep the commandments for thousands of years but couldn’t. Nor was he intended to. The purpose of the commandments was to bring man to the end of himself and to show him he needed a Saviour.
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
(Galatians 3:24-26)
You seem from your posts to ignore what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross and you want to go back to the Old Testament. We’re in New Covenant times.
