The theme of not taking life is consistent through the old testament and on into the new testament where Jesus instructs to love one another.
It is also true that the Israelite were instructed to wage war or defend themselves. However, we (Christians) are not in that situation.
If you want to pick one out I[m happy to discuss, but please understand that I don't just sit on this forum so you might have to wait.
