@ogb saidPossibly I have. But I don't like to distract anyone from Christ.
the bible says to watch out because there are angels walking around among us. Have you ever met a for reals angel ?
There are a few testimonies that I believe concerning this.
Angels don't hang around. If they have a job they do that job and they're mysteriously out of the scene. They do not hang around long enough to be the center of attention.
I have had one experience which MAY have been of an angel.
Here is what happened to me.
It was in Princeton New Jersey. I was a young new believer living in my parents house alone. I had access to the car, the house.
I would go on campus, hang around, and perhaps go down to this Christian coffee house, sit around one of several tables and talk about the Gospel. All types of people went to those Christian coffee houses in those days in the early 70s in the US.
Once I noticed that my car keys were lost. This was a source of anxiety. If I could not find those keys to the car it would cause me a lot of trouble. I prayed on it. And I prayed about it again. Then I somehow decided that there was nothing I could do except trust in God and leave it completely to Him.
So I did. And I literally forgot about those keys and occupied myself with going to the Christian coffee house to have some talk. Latter that evening as I was engrossed in conversation, two things happened almost simultaneously.
One of the people in the coffee house came up to me and said someone said that these keys belonged to me. And imperfectively, out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure leaving coffee house out the door milliseconds before the keys were given to me.
That suddenly disappearing figure, only whose back I saw leaving the room a tiny moment before the keys were given to me, I believe, might have been an angel. If not I have no doubt that God honored my leaving the matter totally with Him, forgetting about it, and trusting that SOMEHOW God would solve my missing key problem.
Maybe it was an angel. Maybe it was not.
Do not ask me what the figure looked like.
I only saw out of the corner of my eye even subconsciously someone leaving the
area as the lost keys, to my great relief were given to me.
I do not chase after volumes of experiences like this. Over the years I can recall now only TWO testimonies similar to this that I have heard from other Christians, which I tend to believe were credible. Those who recounted the experiences believe that an angel was the best explanation.
One experience I believe was of a Christian who was having a funeral of a person. For some reason which I cannot recall there was the expectation that there would be trouble of a violent kind during that funeral.
The concerned party had a guest list and knew everyone who was to attend the funeral. Beside the piano though was an unknown heftily built and muscular man. And he told the host not to worry because there would be no trouble at the funeral.
The muscular looking man stayed by the piano throughout the ceremony just looking over around everyone present. Afterward he totally just was gone. I mean his departure was sudden, unnoticed. He was no where to be found.
The host who was concerned and knew all the guests at the funeral had no idea who the mysterious visitor was standing watch over everything beside the piano.
I believed it may have been an angel. I believe that I would agree that it may have been an angel.
They usually do not hang around and mysteriously come and go so imperfectively that it is only considered after the fact that something strange has occurred.
The third experience I heard that I think I agree may have been of an angel went like this.
A father and a son were very near water. I can't remember the specifics. But the boy fell into the water and was drowning. Perhaps it was some kind of turbulent reservoir or otherwise dangerous place. I can't remember that detail.
I remember that the frantic father could not reach the child to pull him out from the water. Then over his head a arm reached out and grabbed his child, drew him out of danger. The two (dad and child) were grasping each other weeping in relief for it was a near death experience for the child.
After comforting each other the two looked around to see WHO was it that reached over the dad's head and grabbed the child out of water to safety. NO ONE was there to be thanked - NO ONE.
The Christian said he believed that it was an angel. And I tend to find this testimony and explanation credible.
When angels appear they do their little job (though it may be a critical one) and they are GONE. They do not linger around. I think this is one of the trademarks of real angel appearances to people.
@sonship saidThat makes sense. Angels are supposed to be messengers, not loiterers.

@Kevin-Eleven
Exactly. I mean the stories Michael Landon creates are heart warming to some people - "Touched By An Angel" TV entertainment. But authentic angels come and go real fast IF they show up at all.
I think it is just a little indication from God that we have heavenly helpers when we are aligned with His will. Just a little nod or little encouragement.
In the last three and one half years of this age they will play a more noticeable
role.
@divegeester saidThe closest scripture to this idea is this:
How/why is it that you know this?
"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." -- Hebrews 13:2, KJV
