No, throughout the Bible we see a distinction between faith and presumption.
They were dealing with obsession and presumption and not spiritual reality and faith.
If they say they follow Jesus, they follow Jesus, you are not ALLOWED to refute that since you are not telepathic.
It does not regard telepathic powers but to heed the words of Jesus "By their fruits you shall know them."
YOU need to take note of rotten fruit by anyone holding up a religious banner of "Jesus" so that YOU feel justified in not following Jesus.
"By their fruits you shall know them" to you means, the more rotten the fruit the better you know who is a Christian.
