I say the contempt Rajk999 displays for the gospel I present is reminiscent to
the mocking that Ishmael had for Isaac. Rajk999 disdain for so called "mouth worshippers" is really a rehash of the mocking of Ishmael the work of Abraham's flesh against Isaac the work of God's grace.
One needs to know the story in Genesis of the birth of Abraham's two children - Ishmael and Isaac. And one must know how the Apostle Paul wonderfully allegorized this rivalry teach the contempt law keepers have for receivers of God's grace in the book of Galatians.
"For it is written,
"Rejoice, barren one who does not bear; break forth and shout, you who are not travailing, because many are the children of her who is desolate rather than of her who has her husband."
But you, brothers, in the way Isaac was, are children of promise.. But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now . . . " (Galatians 3:27-29)
What does Paul say about the symbolism of Ishmael who was born of Abraham's fleshy self effort and Isaac who was born from the miraculous fulfillment of God's promise ?
@sonship saidThe Gospel of Jesus Christ:
I say the contempt Rajk999 displays for the gospel
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
(Matthew 4:23-5:9 KJV)
Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God - Good works and righteousness leads to eternal life in the Kingdom of God. I have quoted many many passages where Jesus establishes what is the true Gospel of the Kingdom of God.
What Gospel does Sonship and his church preach? Profess your faith and worship Christ with your mouth and you will get eternal life, no matter what sins you commit. Jesus condemned that gospel. That is the Gospel of Satan which leads to damnaton.
Right after the allegory of Ishmael's persecution for Isaac we see Paul also write:
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not be entangled with a yoke of slavery again." (Gal. 5:1)
Rajk999 has the attitude of the mocking Ishmael. For him to stand fast is to have a license to sin because we are forgiven. This is the bedrock of his heresy. Any appreciation of the grace of Christ is for Rajk999 license to continue in sinning.
The grand excuse that all receivers of grace only want a license to sin is a bedrock prejudice Rajk999 must cling to with all his might.
This great blanket generalization he needs to bring Christians again into the slavery of law keeping.
This is what the Judaizers of Paul's day were trying to do the churches in Galatia.
Paul said these legalists were practicing a kind of witchcraft against the believers in Christ.
"O foolish Galatians, who has BEWITCHED you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed crucified?" (Gal. 3:1)
@sonship saidWrong. The Jews in the church of Galatia were promoting the idea of circumcision... CIRCUMSISION !! Got it? That is when a piece of your dick gets cut off ... you moron. They were saying that only circumcised people can enter the Kingdom of God, and that the Gentiles MUST be circumcised. Paul corrected them and said that is incorrect.
This great blanket generalization he needs to bring Christians again into the slavery of law keeping.
This is what the Judaizers of Paul's day were trying to do the churches in Galatia.
For you to come now and claim that nobody must keep the commandments of Christ [because of what Paul said] just demonstrates how crooked and evil your doctrine really is. You are really stupid
If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15 KJV)
This wonderful verse only has Jesus telling His disciples that if the LOVE Him, they must keep His commandments. They express their love through their obedience .
This verse does not say "If you believe in My death and resurrection for your eternal redemption . . . you are just a disobedient MOUTH WORSHIPPER."
This verse having Jesus tell His disciples to express their love for Him through obedience to His commandments cannot be used to prove that trusting the crucified and resurrected Redeemer is only vain mouth worship.
Now let's look at it again.
"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." (John 14:15 RcV)
@Rajk999
Galatians was written because the Christians should CONTINUE to live Christ in the manner that they first RECEIVED Christ.
The Christians had begun in the Holy Spirit.
And they should CONTINUE in the Holy Spirit.
" Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?" (3:3)
As they trusted Jesus Christ the unseen Spirit of life who caused them new birth, they should CONTINUE to GROW in this new life in the exact same manner. That is trusting Christ in His form of the Holy Spirit to be everything they need to live righteously.
"If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit." (5:25)
A good prayer for the Born Again:
Lord Jesus, we need You to be our consecration.
Lord Jesus, we need You to be our dedication, our zeal, our motive and intention.
Lord Jesus, as You caused us to be BORN anew we need You to come into every chamber of our heart making Yourself at hope in all our mind, emotion, and will."
. The Jews in the church of Galatia were promoting the idea of circumcision... CIRCUMSISION !!
The Judaizers competing with Paul were demoting the need for the hearing of faith. Instead of the hearing of faith they promoted the fleshy legalistic zeal which discounts faith in favor of fleshy ordinances like circumcision.
Paul said they initially received Jesus living in them as the Spirit by the hearing of faith. And that God was continually SUPPLYING to them the Holy Spirit through the same hearing of faith.
"This only I wish to learn from you. Did you receive the Spirit out of the works of the law or by the hearing of faith? (3:2)
He therefore who bountifully supplies to you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does He do it out of the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?" (v.5)
As they initially were saved they should continue to walk and grow in the same manner - through the hearing of the word of God and the exercise of faith.
@sonship saidShowing us again how you cannot read. In the very same letter to the Galatians Paul, tells them that the Law of Moses, [THE LAW OF MOSES], not the teachings of Christ, are no longer applicable. You continue to fail to state the teachings of Christ, and you do this deliberately because your evil mind and Satanic heart cannot utter the following words
@Rajk999.
Paul said th ...[text shortened]... d grow in the same manner - through the hearing of the word of God and the exercise of faith.
- charitably or brotherly love
- good works.
Paul warns the Galatian church that the Law of Moses is fulfilled by the keeping of the commandments of Christ
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Galatians 5:14 KJV)
Paul tells the Galatians who have been "bewitched" by the law exalting Judaizes that if they forsake the life in grace to go back to justification by law keeping Christ will profit them nothing.
"Behold, I Paul say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing." (5:2)
He did not mean that they would thereafter lose their eternal redemption.
He did not mean that the gift of eternal life would be revoked as if it were only on
loan.
He meant that if they returned to the attitude that they can justify themselves through law keeping, ignoring the indwelling Spirit, the indwelling Spirit of Christ would be of no profit to them.
If the bewitched Galatian churches paid attention to the law keeping legalism of the Judaizers they would be brought to naught, weakened, stuck in arrested growth spiritually.
Their growth would be stunted.
Their progress would be retarded.
They would have moved backwards instead of forwards toward God's kingdom.
If they would forget Christ as the Spirit within them to regulate, assist, steer, empower and enable them, they would have brought to naught the operation of grace within them.
"You have been brought to naught separated from Christ, you who are being justified by law; you have fallen from grace." (Gal. 5:4)
Christ with them is all sufficient and powerful. But they have fallen from this power.
They have been brought to nothing.
They will remain stunted, retarded, fleshy and fleshly, prone to being overcome by sins and defeated.
So destructive was the Judaizers legalism and presentation of a different Gospel and "another Jesus".
